With over 30 years in the business, Royce Ring is nationally recognized as one of the most successful and innovative restaurant developers in the country. He and his restaurants have received numerous industry and media honors, including Nation’s Restaurant News’ “Hot Concepts” Award, dozens of Best New Restaurant Awards, Playboy Magazine’s “25 Best Bars in America” citation, consistent four and five-star ratings and a prestigious “Mobile 5 Diamond Award”, among many others. Royce has an understanding of current hospitality and retail trends and of the ever-changing consumer market. With a resume including the creation of over 100 successful hospitality concepts, including popular restaurants, bars, lounges and hotels worldwide, he has proven his talent for brand development.

Prior to forming planBgroup, Ring served as a principal at Knauer Incorporated. In the six years before joining Knauer, Ring’s Dallas area projects included Tom Tom Noodle House and Nikita, as well as serving as the Sr. Vice President of the e-brands division of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, where Ring was responsible for the design, branding, restaurant concept creation, development and operations of 11 full-service restaurant brands and 27 operating units. These concepts reflect Ring’s level of brand awareness and ability to create successful concepts with signature brand identities.

Before relocating to Dallas with Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, Royce was executive vice president and partner of Chicago-based Restaurant Development Group, operators of Nick & Tony’s, the Saloon Steakhouse, Kinzie Street Chophouse, Cassis, Grappa, Barcelona, Mambo Grill, Club Creole, and Bar Louie.

Ring has worked with successful brands throughout the US and in Asia, Australia, Mexico and Moscow, Russia. He was managing director of Greater Union’s Restaurant Group in Sydney, Australia and a founding board member of University of Nevada at Las Vegas’ Restaurant and Hotel School’s Advisory Board. Ring was a guest speaker at the 2010 MUFSO Conference in Orlando, FL and has spoken at Hospitality Design Magazine conferences. Ring brings to the table a creative mind and an unsurpassed reputation for excellence.
