Alan Stinson
Al was born in Sundance, Wyoming, and grew up on a farm in the Dallas Metro area. He studied at University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a degree in accounting. After college, Al joined Deloitte Touche and worked his way up from auditor and CPA to partner. A client recruited Al to become CFO of Fidelity National Financial, the largest title insurance company in the United States where he eventually became CEO. Today, the various companies that Al was involved with have a total market capitalization of around $70 billion.
Upon leaving Fidelity, Al has continued to be involved as an investor, board member, and acquisition participant in a variety of companies including restaurants, logistics, recreational vehicles, wineries, artificial intelligence, and 2023 horse of the year Flightline.
In 2021, Al and his family opened Hill & Vine and Sunday Supply in Fredericksburg, Texas. Al’s children are involved in the restaurant business, daughter Sarah and her husband Jesse as co-owners and operators of Hill & Vine, daughter Amy operating restaurants in San Antonio, and son Travis owns and operates a French restaurant in Guatemala City. Al is a passionate home chef, ages his own meat, and is known for fabulous dinner parties and family meals where he is often referred to as the “grill master.” He is also an avid reader and accomplished outdoorsman.
Years ago, Al and his family created the Stinson Family Foundation which is a supporter of educational and children’s non-profit organizations.
